On August 19, the General Administration of Customs released information on food and cosmetics whose entry was not allowed in July 2020. According to statistics, in July 2020, the national customs detected 246 batches of food that were unqualified of safety and health items and not allowed to enter in the port supervision link.

According to statistics, the place of origin of non-entry food involves 30 countries or regions including Argentina, Australia, and Pakistan. Among them, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, India, and Japan rank in the top 5, with 34 batches, 30 batches, 28 batches, 21 batches, and 19 batches respectively.

The main non-entry foods this time involved frozen seafood, frozen meat, condiments, beverages, etc. Among them, the reasons for the failure to enter frozen seafood and frozen meat were mainly detection of animal epidemics, failure to obtain inspection and quarantine access, unqualified sensory inspection, cargo inconsistent with certificate, no certificate or qualified certification materials provided as required. The reasons for the non-entry of other food are mainly related to failure of label, failure of sensory inspection, expiry date, food additives, no certificate or qualified certification materials provided as required, pesticide and veterinary drug residue problems, inconsistency in cargo and certificate, etc.
