In 2022, the national market supervision departments completed 6,563,388 batches of food safety supervision and sampling inspection according to related national food safety standards. Among them, 187,572 batches of unqualified samplings were found, and the unqualified rate was 2.86%, with an increase of 0.17 percentage points compared with that in 2021. Among them, the unqualified rate in the fourth quarter was 3.23%.

Analysis of Unqualified Food Categories

The supervision sampling unqualified rate of processed grain, edible oil and fat and its products, meat products, egg products and dairy products with large consumption was 0.68%, 1.13%, 1.06%, 0.27% and 0.12%, respectively, which were all lower than the overall unqualified rate. Compared with last year, the unqualified rates of 28 categories of foods such as liquor and alcoholic beverage and vegetable products have reduced, while that of 5 categories of foods such as catering food and edible agricultural products have increased.

Analysis of Unqualified Reasons

Some unqualified items accounted for the total amount of unqualified samples: microbial contamination 20.73%, organic contamination 11.12%, pesticide residue exceeding standards 33.31%, heavy metal contamination 8.04%, use of food additives beyond scope or limits 9.65%, veterinary drug residue exceeding standards 7.85%, and substandard quality indicators 7.63%.

For the unqualified foods found in the supervision and sampling inspection, the market supervision departments have released the results to the public, and taken measures in a timely manner in accordance with relevant regulations to strictly control food safety risks.
