CFSA | Solicited Public Opinions on 7 Novel Food Additives

On May 25, 2020, China National Centre for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) solicited public opinions on 7 novel food additives, including novel food processing aids, nitrous oxide and novel food nutrition fortifier, Vitamin K2 (Synthesis method). The deadline for opinions is June 20, 2020.

It is applied to vitamin K2 (synthetic method), a side-chain double-bond all-trans food nutrient fortifier, is prepared by selective chemical synthesis reaction, distillation, extraction, column chromatography, recrystallization, drying and screening with heptene terpene alcohol and vitamin K3 as the main raw materials. It is divided into vitamin K2 pure product and vitamin K2 oil.

 

The applied vitamin K2 (synthesis method) is a compound source of vitamin K, which belongs to the vitamin K2 made from the new production materials. Previously, vitamin K2 (synthesis method) from other production materials and vitamin K2 (ferment method) have been approved for use in formulated milk powder (only for children) and formulated milk powder (only for pregnant women).
